ebay manifold on a phase II VTR?

    I have rencently won a second hand SS manifold on ebay but do not know who its made by?
    I am sure this is the manifold..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-SA...item1c1cd77ff5

    Just wondering if I will need to carry out an oil filter relocation in order to fit this to my phase II VTR? I sighted it by eye and it looks like it may be a straight fit? Anyone else have this manifold on a phase II VTR?

    Hi mate,

    I'm pretty sure that manifold you have in the link will require an oil filter re-location as its for the mk1. not 100% sure if anything else will need to be done though.

    Looking at the direction of the tubing it would need oil filter relocation, imo the better option anyway.

    This will clear the oil filter ignore the other replies you have been given.

    However, this only has one lambda port, your car might not fuel the greatest, mk2 has 2 lambdas.

    I recently bought one of these eBay manifolds only the 4-1 version and that clears the filter and has two lambda ports.

    You will need this for the 2nd lambda http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...All-Categories

    This is better than sleeving the 2nd, also as the raceland has port at the top next to the cylinder, this is the same as standard on mk2s the first lambda is in the top of the cast iron mani coming out of the cyl.

    I used to think a mk1 filter was the better option till come MOT time, not only was I putting a manifold cat back in put changing the bloody filter too.

    Also, don't be put off these manifolds because they are from eBay.

    They are the same spec/design as the Racelands, I actually prefer mine to the £300 piper I had before and acidentally dented.

    Not wanting to cause an argument here, but it clearly says "phase 1 only" if you read the description. I've had aftermarket 4-2-1 mk1 manifolds, and mk2's before and they are a completely different shape as the mk1 was no-where near clearing the filter. If you are buying new i don't understand why you would buy one that *might* fit, rather than just buying the right one. Also not sure why you didnt just fit an under car cat for your mot, rather than changing your manifold and oil filter type back?

    As above, it does say its for MK1 only, if they take returns etc you could always risk it and hope that it will miss the filter, or just spend abit of extra cash and get a proper MK2 mani from here or eBay etc

    Yeah I can see it says Phase 1 but when were Phase 1s made upto 2003?

    Besides, you guys probably are right but either way i DID recommend he buy the 4-1 which I know will definitely fit his car, as well as having the right Lambda setup for a 2 plug mk2 car.

    I also have tried both mk1 & mk2 manifolds and im fully experienced in these things.

    If you want, I can upload you a pic of the three different manifolds I have in my shed along with the three different catalytic converters I have and two different centre pipes. I've converted to and from Mk1 and Mk2 filters, trust me I know what im on about lol.

    To be honest with you i'm not interested which manifolds you have or don't have in your shed. Why you wouldn't just buy the right manifold for your car i really don't know. As long as you're happy with you're information thats fine, but im telling the OP he's likely to have a fun time fitting that manifold.
