    Hi,

I am fitting af newman ph3 camshaft in my 90hk silver top. Will i need stronger valvesprings to cope with the higher lift?

I would as a matter of course, when I compared the silvertop springs to the green ones from a rallye head there was a marked difference. Silvertops are very soft as standard

Just out of interest, how much would valve springs cost? Is it a specialist job to replace them?

About £100~ give or take. Not really specialist, but its a head off and valves out job so you'll need a valve spring compressor. Be fool hardy to not refresh the stem oil seams and lap the valves in

i've only ever seen bad reviews about the place, but its also the only place i've seen the uprated valve springs.. could speak to hiflowheads and see if they can do anything?

I found a old post some days ago, someone sayd that only the later silver tops (100hk) had softer valvesprings and that the early silvertop (90hk) used stronger ones like the blacktop...

Are there any truth to this? Can someone confirm this?
