S1 inlet ICV hose locations:

   Right, I'm currently rebuilding a vtr 8v engine with an S1 inlet. But one question I do have is:
   
   How critical is the location of where you put the hose from the ICV into the inlet?
   
   I've seen every other S1 mod with the ICV hose going in from the side like this:
   
   
   But I've thought of plumbing in the hose to the rear of the inlet, (just makes it look tidier from up top etc) like so:
   
   
   (the silicone hose kinks when bent so had to use copper elbow)
   
   Will this have any effect on the flow to the 4 ports in the inlet for idling etc...

   It doesnt matter at all.... When the engine is idling there will be a large vacumm in the inlet so it will suck air from where it is posible to get it. You can put the connection any where you want.
   
   I am also ín the process of mounting a s1 rally inlet. I am going to start out by using the s1 ICV in the throttle body. It should be possible to make it work, it does exactly the same thing as the vtr one.

   I've gone for a better looking (more central) fitment with using an old hose from the air box:
   
   
   My 306 uses the larger type ICV not the smaller stepper motor type that the s1's etc use.

   Yeah the s1 is a stepper not an icv
   
   You sure you'll have enough room behind the inlet for that? You can fit icv where you want, long as there's room for it

   Yeah, I've got plenty of room behind the inlet. Measured the total length from the face of the inlet and the end of the ICV and there's a good 2" of room left.
