new saxo got standard manifold. Wonderin difference between 4-2-1. 4-1 and a 4 branch? Is they much difference.

4-2-1 = For lower end power
4-1 = Upper rev range power.

4-1 same as 4 branch?. So tbh neither are better both do same job?

You should really read the 'stickys' at the top of the page.

    A Whole Thread On Manifolds

    4 Branch = 4 pipes.

you wont notice any real difference between a 4-1 and a 4-2-1. The designs are compromised for space anyway so are no way the perfect manifold design.
Get a brand with proven gains and you will be fine.

    Very fair and true advice.

Surely also fair to say that anything is gonna be better than the standard cast iron design though?

I mean when you consider that each cylinder gets its own unique flow rather than everything collecting at the head.

The problem is that people get hung up on whether its 4-1 or a 4-2-1. Supersprint is a 4-2-1 yet its one of the better ones for giving good gains at top end. Bore sizing and primary lengths are more critical.
