I will be using this to cope with roughly 220lbs, but you may need the stage 3 version to cope with 300lb
The clutches on kam racing should be able to do the job too, but looks like the website is down ATM so cant load a link -
#3I doubt that clutch above will take 220ftlbs

#4Be warned most so called uprated clutches are useless. Many inferior to the standard clutches. I would not use the one in the link. Generally I would say stick with AP Racing or Helix clutches. GMC used to stock a rage that could be used for such application. My old clutch was a AP lug drive unit that came from GMC along with the modified flywheel to fit it. GMC was working on a spline sleeve and custom clutch with larger splines for high boost application. This is as once you get a good clutch and limited slip diff the next thing to go is normally the input shaft.1 user thanked this post:

#5Even the pressed cover helix paddle clutches are only rated to about 250ftlbs I think?
The helix or Ap pressed steel cover/paddles are the only ones minimum I'd want to use on a turbo or high torque engine
Those are bare min really, then you want the likes of ap lug drive billet clutches etc as ax posted.. Goes up and up in price from there on
Last thing you wanna do is cheap out on a clutch.. Right ball ache when it goes wrong and you gotta pull everything back off -
#6i have an AP twin plate lug drive sintered clutch in mine rated to 700lbs/ft
wouldnt like to sit in traffic with it though -
#7+1 Single plate sintered is a bitch, guessing twin plate would be a bit easier on the clutch leg, but still heavy as fook.Quote:i have an AP twin plate lug drive sintered clutch in mine rated to 700lbs/ft

As said, stick with an ap or helix unit. -
#8Sintered plates very much dislike being slipped/road use,
I was running a twin plate super clutch setup in my corsa, didn't take long to kill it doing road miles.
Go for cerametallic plate if you can imo last much much longer.
I think tbh normal helix paddle kit would do you just fine. (4/6 paddle cerametallic)
But just doesn't give you any future scope.
If your running a be4 conversion look into the clutch setup atspeed supply, though you could probs source it cheaper else where.
