Is it a necessity? I don't particularly want to buy one because it will be a one time only use. Can I re-assemble it without one? Thanks.

#5Yeah man! Just thinking the pilot hole must be perfect for a 1/4 ext. bar. Does it hold the plate okay though?

#9i just bashed a socket handle in the hole to get it close, tighten up the clutch and had no trouble at all. worked twice now. never understood the need for an alignment tool

I have honestly only ever done this, or used a screwdriver to move it about abit. Not hard and surprising easy to get precise.
