  1. #1
yo, just thought i would hoy this thread up, as title, cars in for map, looking forward to the results before and after. will post pics up of graphs tomorrow good or bad
  2. #2
What ECU and what engine mods you running ?
  3. #3
    Who is mapping it?
  4. #4
just the standard 3 plug ecu.... 4 branch mani, decat enclosed induction kit and cat cams 743. just basic really. its getting done at automarc at stoksley. he told me i wont get full power because i didn't use v power gutted now just didn't think it would make a huge difference.
  5. #5
How much bhp does a remap add to a VTS?
  6. #6
not much. the mapping is mainly because of the cams ive had fitted, they need timed in and fueling ect set up
  7. #7
How much r cams? And wha bhp do they add. Just put a VTS engine into my saxo. Intreged on what to do next
  8. #8
well the cams i got were the cat cams 743's which were 300pound http://www.kamracing.co.uk/citroen/c...s-1321743.html then getting them fitted costed 120, i also changed the cam belt and water pump at the same time. than after that the map is costing 300. its just a guessing game what bhp its going to be running, alot of people get different results

Dosent make a huge different with that spec really i wouldnt worry. What did it make?
  10. #10
His figures are I be taken with a pinch of salt as his dyno is meant to over read a bit, but the quality/drive and feel of his work is highly reccomended

But yeah, what did it make??
  11. #11
Come on man what did it make!?

yo, thanks to blackie recommending his work i can say he has done a good job going of the feel of the car. defo an increase in power and i have a nicer idle lol. but yeah blackie may be right in the rollers as it came out with 162.6bhp
  13. #13
I'd say realistically your looking at 155bhp there.
Good to hear it idles an drives nicely! That's the difference between a good map and a bad map!
  14. #14
    162 !

    Thats quick.
  15. #15
main thing is how the power cuvres and torque cuvres look like than peak power, but seem a good result, any chance for a dyno graph? nice to see what it doing though the rev range.
  16. #16
    I think I need a remap!
  17. #17
    get them graphs up!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. #18
Mine idles like my Subaru did!

its also wrong lol not slating the guys car at all its been pointed out that the road over reads, people say northampton over reads where my car was dynod at 155bhp on 708's and jenveys, tom5190's car on 743's was dyno'd at 151bhp

theres bugger all difference between our cars, mine just sounds the tits lol

hope you enjoy driving the car mate you will love it whatever the bhp figure is
  20. #20
thanks guys yeah im really happy with the car, felt good to have it back done, been waiting a while for it to be cammed and mapped. ill get some photos up for you, couple of mins.

in case any ones wondering the 2 orange lines (the ones lower down) is the bhp before and after the map, and the others the torque.

    its ALOT more grunty! wow

To be fair, it looks about 145bhp "before", which ain't too far out for a cammed 16v, about 5bhp. So knock 5bhp off the "after", 157bhp. Which I'd say is about right for a well mapped VTS. Which automark have a good reputation.

Maybe the guy you and Tom took your cars to just isn't that good at mapping? Just food for thought.

My Cammed, unmapped VTS made 141 on the rollers at XO in cramlington and they're supposed to be quite accurate, so that could be right

Ours were mapped at different place's we just have a power graph from northampton to compare. Troy is an excellent mapper, that £20million odd ferrari from goodwood that the pink floyd drummer owns was on there rolling road not so long ago, they charge over £100 an hour lol!

What were you wheel figures matey? fly figures are pretty pointless, theres a kid on here had his reading 165hp but only 122whp which is obviously outrageous.

Bhp figures are a constant bitch and as andy said its all about the curve/area under that curve (however peak figures that are inaccurate do mess that around) but most of all its about the drive. Hope you enjoy it matey i have heard good things about the quality of that place

Edit: whats going on with the revs looks like standard limit?? and your peak is at 6755rpm
  32. #32
    What is the standard limit?

im begining to think that bhp doent mean anything, my vtr read out at 105bhp and 135nm torque on dyno but the power curve was very nice all the way to 5500rpm then it dips off, but still beat a few vts down santapod, whether its down to the driver, i would have thought a vts would pull past a vtr regardless

LOL have you ever seen Northampton motorspt? They are very good at what they do, on a side note you can eat your dinner off their floors the place is immacclate as tom said I paid £108 per hour there for mapping, I know there hourly rate and cleaniliness dosent have to mean they are good but there is a reason why they are expensive, all of pug1off builds go there for mapping, and the amount of ridiculously priced cars they work on there is good indication that they are trustworthy! It's not just some dyno in a shed like some roads..
