Flywheel Lightening

    Hi all,

    New to the forum me, I'm looking to squeeze the 0-60 time down on my (currently unmodded) 1.0 (yes, i know, ambitious). As such, would it be worth my while performance-wise paying to have the flywheel lightened; if so, how much weight off it would be advisable?

    Also, I'm looking to fit a cold air system too, budget for that is hovering around £80 - I'm open to some wise advice if anyone is offering.

    I'm not expecting huge gains, just to give the edge in a bit of friendly competition.

    honestly.......not much point in modding it engine wise, if you must...just get an exhaust and air filter,

    If you really must keep the 1.0 and want it to go better, you are best off stripping any excess weight you don't need, all the interior, spare wheel, sound deadening etc etc. Probably not worth doing the flywheel tbh unless you get one cheap and you're planning on taking the gearbox off any time soon as well. A lot of work just to swap a flywheel. Obviously if you need to change clutch or gearbox you can do it at the same time.

    Yeah, I meant more lightening the existing one? I have to keep the 1.0 or the insurance would just about kill me....

    Cold air feed is pointless at this point.. Decat/manifold/remove center box.. Get injectors cleaned, bigger inlet manifold, head work..

    Drop a 1.4/6 in for a 10th of the price

    it's cheaper to declare mods than just buy a bigger engined car?

    Dont waste money polishing a turd.

    Just save it till you can get something less crap than a 1.0
