i just bought a quickshift from griffiths engineering and after reading all the other guides i still have no clue could someone give my a guide to fitting it to a saxo vtr. pics would be nice

  2. #2
Did it not come with fitting instructions/installation?
  3. #3
Its easy to see how it fits but surly they gave you a diagram of what link to fit it to ? ? ?
  4. #4
yea i got a diagram wit h it i just didnt understand how to remove the gear rod to put the thing on

you undo all for bolts on the inside of the car then undo the nut and bolt where it connects to the linkage underneath the car then you pop the old rod out of the black plastic housing it should just pop out of it with a little bit of force

If you was thinking of fittin a quickshift why didn't you go for a B&M shifter?

It include stick and gear knob with a really nice top and good instructions.

I got one of these cost fractions compared to B&M but a B&M will be far better. Takes 10minutes to fit

    1. Locate the longest gear arm selector (bit from the box)
    2. Pop off the linkage with a screw driver
    3. Place quickshift over the selector so that the ball joint is inside the middle part of quickshift
    4. Tighten cap head and lock with nut
    5. Push on the linkage to the new ball end of the quickshift
    6. Check you can select all gears (as i had to move some wires as it struggled to go into 2nd)

If all that didnt make sense ill take pics at the weekend and post them

B&M!?!?!?!? i need one so badly, but really pain in the arse to get in austria!!!
  10. #10
In Greece there is a distributor but charges 230euros for an B&M,too expensive for what offers.Imagine that i bought a Peugeot Sport ECU for about 350...
  11. #11
damn expensive these shifters!! found it on a german page...

well after trying to fit this part i broke the big gear rod it fits to. so i taped it together and drove the car in 1st and 2nd which is hard to citreon to get another part and even then after i took the old one off and stuck the new one on the part wouldnt fit. i got it on but it didnt have the space to move and select any gear so.. its sitting on my table still not installed

quicker getting through gears so you'll be a little bit faster because your spending less time on each gear change

very old thread I know but Ive tried fitting mine a d it just popped out when i tried to select a gear. How does the GE have to sit in relation to the selector arm? I had it so it sat vertically, in line with the selector arm, is this correct?
