Important! : wideband lambda and coolant pipes?

   Lambda Sensor question:
   
   did a search and couldnt find the answer to my question
   
   im looking at replacing my lambda sensor soon and wanted to know if i can uprate the sensor to a wideband lambda sensor running on the standard OEM ecu? i know in the future (when ive finished saving) i will need a wideband sensor for possible turbo conversion, any thoughts??
   
   the car is question is saxo VTS w reg phase 2, 3plug ecu

   Rather than create a second thread i also had a look on ebay for some silicone coolant pipes for the VTS and found this:

   Looks good, good variety of colours etc but i want to know if anyone on here has bought these and what are your opinions?
   
   Also i notices the first bleed nipple between the low hose rad connection and block is missing, will this create an air lock here if you remove it from the system? thus leaving only 2 bleeding points (on the rad and thermostat housing)

   wideband sensors usually have a narrowband output for ECU's etc. I think it depends on what wideband you get as to what ECU's it will work with though.

   i looked into a Bosch type 5057 5 wire lambda sensor however im not 100% if this will connect to the OEM Bosch ME7.4.4. ECU

   for a start, the saxo lambda has 4 wires, not 5, so it wont plug straight into the loom
   
   googling doesnt show anything about that bosch lambda, but you are aware you shall need a controller for it too, not just the sensor?

   Of those 4 wires, only one is a signal wire.
   
   So if you get a wideband and controller and gauge etc it will have all its own wiring, and then there should be narrowband outputs from the AFR gauge. 1 or more. In theory, you could connect one of those outputs to the one signal wire in the saxo loom going to the ECU, but it depends whether the wideband outputs the narrowband signal in a way the saxo ECU can read it.

   oh sorry just noticed got the lambda code wrong its Bosch 7057 wideband, i originally saw it on DP engineering (see below) and says its suitable for TU5 engines:

   Also i recall the saxo lambda sensors only have 4 wires however doesn't this bit of kit convert 5 wires to 4 for the OEM loom or is this for something else:

   as i said, that is just the sensor, you still need a controller. i paid £124 for my wideband sensor and controller, cheapest i could find an innovate lc-1 anywhere, so thats the kind of price you should be looking at

    I think my AEM wideband kit has a 0-1v output for the o.e ecu to use, they go for around £170.
