what is the long pipe called under my saxo

    HI guys and gals i've recently become a saxo owner and i'm not all that clued up on cars.

    lately my car has started soubding like a tank and ive seen the reason why. In the exhaust system there is a long pipe going under the car connected to the exhaust and towards the front of the car ther is another connection which leads up into the engine. this has split and looks like it could snap any day now. i'm trying to find a replacement 2nd hand if possible but i can't find the name of what the pipe is called I NEEEEDDD HELP. i've searched the internet but there are so may names for it i would just like a straite answer lol.

    What is it called
    Is it easy to replace myself.

    i cant tell if hes talking about the center section, cat or down pipe, being a w reg vtr the cat should be under the car (mine was) it sounds to me as if hes talking about the cat/downpipe join, if you get a quick photo we will be able to tell you exactly whats broken

    Thats your centre section/catalytic converter..

    Lol thganks for that the one on your site says its a 1.4 but mine is a 1.1 does that make any difference?

    Best bet is to give your local motor factors a call, tell them you're after a catalytic converter and give them your reg.. It will be roughly the same price and will the exact right one..

    thell probs fit for around £20/30 m8 or jack it up on axel stands and diy-it easy

    If I was you I'd of paid for premium and got one on here for £20 second hand or a stainless system for £100
