Any body Rebuilt A Turbo

    As some of you may have seen I have built at vtr turbo and have run it for over 3k miles now. Just in the last week a squel has appeared on full boost and im guessing its the turbine wheel catching on the casing the thing is when I give the impella a rock there is minimal movement??? If i push hard I carnt get it to catch?? Anyone rebuilt a t2 before I am a mechanic and have all the tools and space just wondered if its doable or not. Cheers

    What sort of squeel

    Sure it's not a boost leak or driveshaft or belt

    Its horendous really like a bearing squeel I might fit my 4 branch to garantee its the turbo its up for sale soon so needs to be right

    If it was the turbo there would more then likely be smoke

    No smoke at all and hardly any play thats whats making me wonder its not like I have changed anything except bottom arm lol

    I doubt it's the turbo tbh

    ive even got my headphones on now and closing my eyes and cant really hear it.lol
    whats it boosting to?

    9psi lol il try and pin point for you 20 secs followed by dump valve

    deffo a squeel mate its shock when in car sounds like something doesnt want to be there lol

    All sorted was exhaust manifold blowing new gasket means all good just to sell it now

    More a whistle to be honest as the gas was been forced between head and gasket under boost

    not at all, my s14 manifold to turbo gasket went and it was a like a screeching noise when it was on full boost but when it idled or rev on the spot there was no obvious signs/noises of it blowing
