who makes the best exhaust system

    I have to run a standard manifold on my vtr but then the rest of the system is free.
    so was wondering who makes the best system for power. this has to include a cat to for regulations.
    or is it best to go some where like simpson or powerflow and get a perpous made system

    Supersprint/Piper/Kam racing
    Powerflow are ok people make them out to be prober shit but i got a powerflow not out of choice though, sounds nice and not stupid loud.

    If you've got to keep the cat then actual gains will be minimal really, id go for the kamracing system as its lighter than most others and is stainless so it'll last.

    Mk2 block but with old style oil filter and blocked hole. and a mk1 head

    A Mk1 has the cat underneath the car and not in the manifold. So i guess you're just after a cat-back system?

    BTB over anything if had to choose from abover PIPER, noise is amazing and they are built very well, everyone has supersprint and saxsport these days trying to sound like rally cars

    Ryan i bet you have one your Saxo.

    Mine sounds nice (imo) from 4k onwards.. it just livens up nice. Below that it just sounds like pure rasp and ehhh. :/

    Like fuck would I ever fit one.

    I have a very expensive system on my track set up and previously ran a btb on my old 8v.

    I don't like the raspy wet fart sound stuff like pugsports etc.

    BTB is not designed as a cat back as far as I remember. Nor is the saxsport.
    If you have to use the original cat then the best setup is going to be the supersprint cat back centre pipe with KAM Racing backbox. That will be light, and flows the best through the rear box. The Piper is good for road cars - well made and has two silencers to give a good sporty sound - but i wouldnt like the female to female flange join with the smaller bore olive for a race car.

    i had a piper loved it, and then moved to a BTB and loved it, never had a kam or supersprint just far to loud and everyone has them

    On the 16v its best to use a twin box system, but on the 8v especially with a cat fitted there is no need.

    All mine is the oe mani > cat underneath > no silencer (supersprint section) then onto the 2" Supersprint

    I do still think it felt abit better with the silencer in it just sounded cack so got shot of it. Not sure what the gains or losses were but it felt different lols..

    It just has to have a cat. see some exhausts. that are straight from the down pipe then with a box under the car and the cat is on tye end as it comes out the middle of the car at the back. what is the advantage of this apart from it being straight. why the cat at the back?

    the gases are cooler and at lower velocity so in theory there may be less restriction by the cat. To work properly they are meant to be as close to the engine as the process needs heat. Its a clever use of the rules

    Personally I'd want to run a sports cat rather than an OE one.
