What should I check as a common fault other than the idle control/spark plugs??

Do the revs slowly drop lower then it cuts out, or it'll be idling at 1000RPM then cuts out, or does it do it when you're driving?

Try ya coolant temperature sensor mate. Had an issue with mine after changing everything from crank sensor, idle valve, coil pack, plugs. . this pretty much solved it along with a new injector.
