  1. #1
    Hi,

I have just purchased a Supersprint centre race pipe and a 3.5" Piper backbox and hopefully going to get it fitted at garage tomorrow, will it fit direct onto standard manifold and will i need anything else to make it fit?

    thanks

Straight fit mate, it might help if you use a new gasket but you can use the old one if needed

It will sound good mate It should give a sort of deep burble sound which shouldn't be too loud

I don't have that system no, I had a straight through exhaust onto an MIJ backbox and 4.5" tailpipe, which was unbelievably loud

Saxo VTS supersprint piper exhaust rasp pop - YouTube
    No it's not a joke....

What I meant to say is that it will be loud-ish, but not to the point where you will start to get headaches from the droning lol

You will need a 50 mm wire gasket from kam racing if you haven't got one already

Ahh i havnt ordered one of them erm i havnt used one in the past what is the need of it if you dont mind explaining and do i definatly need one?

You don't need the wire gasket, but it does help fitment a little, so you can fit the exhaust system and worry about a wire gasket later
  10. #10
You can fit it without the gasket but standard wire gaskets don't fit so you will need a 50mm wire gasket from kam racing when you decide to fit it

Okay can i get the 50mm wire gasket from anywhere else ie a-z motorspares
  12. #12
    EBay for about £2

Erm Im not sure tbh mate its worth ringing a few and trying but kam racing supply them to fit the super sprint centre pipe

if you still have a cat it will sound nice, not to many pops and bangs as the cat muffles a lot. if you have no cat it will SCREAM! the piper box's are loud! i ran this set up for a while and was just over 100db

I have this set up but I'm running a supersprint cat back centre section, it is loud but does sound nice, does get annoying when on the motorway though.

Just out of curiosity is it a raspy sound or is it just loud because I was thinking of going with the same set up

I have bought the supersprint race pipe which will decat and de-silence it and the piper 3.5" backbox which i have to wait a few days to be delivered from kamracing as they are made to order want it now i had sportex before will it sound better than that?
Also do i deffo need to get a wire gasket from somewhere or will garage fit one for me?

    really?

I disagree. It's loud. And drones. And gives me headaches (especially when hungover) lol

Don't get me wrong, it sounds amazing! I love mine and wouldn't change it - but I can barely hear my radio over it when sat at 70. It is a very loud system.
