car wont start!

   hey, as title says car wont start, all the lights on the dash light up fine and battery is pretty much new. ive tried bumping it, also jump leads and both failed. it doesn't even turn over just makes a clicking noise. any idea's please?

   Check the connections to the starter motor it might be that or it might be the starter motor itself

   have you any idea were about the motor is on the vts engine?

   Its attached to gearbox and sits just behind the engine under the inlet

   I had a similar issue on a Rover 25 yesterday. Battery seemed "fine" and would work all the head lights, interior lights etc but just didnt have the amps on cranking to spin over the engine. Try it with another battery. Failing could be a stuck starter solenoid, a few bonks with the hammer or try pushing it/rocking it in gear sometimes helps

   ive tested the leads going to the motor and all are fine, done a battery test and that is fine, just bumped it and it started fine so looks like a new starter

   yeah well racey came up with the battery tester and done a few checks. he tested the wires going to the motor and that. then we bumped it, ill change the motor then go from there, think i should be second hand or would it be worth buying new?

    haha ana, its because we have saxo's it wasn't even trying to start, battery had full charge but bumped fine like. was spot on at yours yesterday, ill be using danis trusty ka lol

    well ill have to send him the cash and wait for it, defo can say it wont be done by tomorrow, but hopefully for next sunday, there is a big meet at Dalton park
