Lightened Flywheel

Any1 know where is the best place to get a lightened flywheel for my vts, taking into account price and quality. Cheers

    I've got a TTV one. Think it's 3kg?

Anyway when comparing the two with one in each hand, the TTV one felt like a piece of paper in comparison to the standard fly.

Cheers buddy, u get good gains? and how light can the flywheel be before considered too light?

I was uber cautious about having a 'too light' flywheel on the car as I wanted a good idle and it didn't want the revs dropping so fast that the Idle Control Valve couldn't respond quick enough causing the engine to stall. Turned out there was nothing to worry about.

Day to day, plodding to work or around town, you wouldn't know you have a lightweight flywheel on the car other than the engine springing into life much quicker and revs more keenly. Idle is fine, car doesn't stall. You have to be a tiny bit easier on the clutch at low rpm but you soon dial into this naturally.

In terms of performance, I haven't smashed it in 1st (find it's too short really), but 2nd and 3rd are great.

Basically it's a mod without ANY drawbacks

I swear by them - transform how the cars feels on pickup. No drawbacks at all (except on turbo'd cars IMO) I used to run one (now on a modified standard one) - go for it!

What's the downsides for you with turbos Ross? Does it stall the turbo or something?

Trying to reduce wheelspin not encourage it. Revs come in so quick on a boosted lump as it is.

Well! I did used to run one on my 300hp setup but i find it better tbh with a standard modified one now (even tho it's at about 40hp more. Just more drivable.

sounds good, could do with a better pick up, feels a bit flat low down revs
