    as droopster said.

    £'sss equals bhp

deep deep pockets, pay lots to make it a turbo and sell for nothing of what you paid
  5. #5
true say man..might aswell just buy the vts!!! can you notice a big difference between the vtr n the vts in acceleration?? never drove a vts??
  6. #6
yes theres a big diff, also because the gearingis alot different
  7. #7
    What you mean, just smoother..??
  8. #8
Yes there is a noticeable difference between the two cars. I would turbo a vts if you are going to turbo one but that's my opinion.

    Where is smoother mentioned???

    IMO;

    VTR - Supercharger

    VTS - Turbocharger

Your looking at alot for both anyway. And alot of setting up. Basic knowledge is also needed I think to run a non-standard turbocharged car.

or a nice set of tbs on the 16v
  11. #11
Ialways thought the VTR's were the better turbo option as the low town torque compensates for any lag you may get from the turbo?

Either way its an expensive game what mods do you currently have?

i have lowered it 40mm all the way around, meshed my front upper grille, a 4" jap sportex exhaust, and colour coded the cockpit, vents etc..just started doing it the last few month's love it tho now...this site helps too...!!

Then you would need to add some decent stopping power added to the parts list.

Uprating the shocks if you haven't already? A new clutch would also be on the cards.

Its a long list I'd consider a vts conversion to start things off they can be done for well under a grand.
  14. #14
VTS Conversion?? take it that's just swapping the engines??
  15. #15
    yup its that simple.
  16. #16
where wopuld i get the engine from??? a scrappy??? or...
  17. #17
Scrappy, Ebay, a few pop up on here.

    Herre my conversion:

    VTR out VTS in

Yes and with the help of AX-Beefy it was fitted over a couple of weekends others have done it alot quicker but the Mk2 engine into Mk1 slowed things down slightly.
  20. #20
Yea i have th mk1 too man...have you got it running yet?? did you pay alot for the vts?
  21. #21
Its been running for about a month now I had a few problems with things that had been bodged (radiator pipe, throttle cable) but they've all broke now and have been replaced with the correct vts parts.

I piad £500 for everything I even got a warranty, BARGAIN!!!!
  22. #22
That is a bargain. Yea the vtr's do have better torque but it is still a vtr turbo compared to a vts turbo. I would do a vts turbo but that is my opinion.
  23. #23
for the money a vts engine convershion is a bargin as you will get 30bhp more then your vtr. cheap to do if you can do it yourself as well.
  24. #24
The proof that mine actually moves

There's been a few inprovements since the video was taken
