Sorry this has probably been covered but every time i try and search for an answer i get a host server error so i'm having to ask again. Just need to confirm that a inlet mani from a mk1 vtr/s will fit on a mk1 1.4 correct? cheers chris
1.6 inlet on 1.4

-
#2I can confirm.
No, it wont. -
#3What none at all? Just there's a couple I've seen for sale that say "upgrade for 1.4" this bs??
-
#4iirc, the vtr inlet will fit certain 1.4's - (pre 2001 perhaps?). The VTS inlet will fit the 16v engines only. I'm not down enough with my 8v's to be 100% on the vtr/1.4/1/1 thing. Blackie would be a good person to ask
-
#5Okay cheers for the help any whoooo
-
#6samueljonburgess fitted a vtr inlet to his furio, iirc if you have a single plug 1.4 then get an inlet from a single plug vtr or if you have a three plug 1.4 get a three plug vtr inlet, as the port spacing is different
-
#8Well that's what I thought personally first.. Cheers for the link bud
-
#9if you have the right model the S1 ally inlet will fit i think.
-
#10Whats the difference between a rallye and vtr inlet?
-
#11i think the rallye inlet lets more air threw due to it being a bigger size! can pick them up for around 100 posted!
-
#12I'll look into it, bigger the better haha1 user thanked this post:

#13dont go for the rallye inlet on the 1.4 iv got two w reg furios one with a rallye inlet and one with the vtr inlet and the rally inlet bogs the 1.4 engine say your on motorway or just anyware tryna go fast if you put your foot fully down you go fast but if you gradually put it down say open thrttole half way its faster than opening it wide lol.. the vtrs been much better for me i stuck vtr injectors in there to nice upgrade, i would assume a rallye inlet would run better after a re map or somthing but it lets to much in for the 1.4 to handle but i never changed my fuel injectors on my furio with the rallye inlet
-
#14Well after looking into that did cross my mind, the amount of air my ecu would think is going through wouldn't be right. Might just stick with a vtr one, also are vtr injectors a straight swap too? ? Did think of doing the same too. . .
-
#15after reading this topic i am very much interested in doing this with my furio 3 plug, what would i need to run it properly?
vtr inlet 3 plug is that it ? -
#16just need the inlet i would recomend injectors and throttle body and all sensors. all pretty much plug and play
Injectors are straight fit,1 user thanked this post: -
#18urgh yeah shit forgot about idle controll valve, urm first start somtimes does this but if you buy the inlet complete you should have issue, i forgot
Theres a pipe that comes from the idle controll valve, this needs to be plumbed into your induction kit or air filter or it some times messes with the idle, you wont miss it its a huge rubber pipe runs from drivers side of inlet to passenger side just simply put it into your inlet elbo or induction pipe or what ever set up your running, also if you turn the key all the way to last click before starting do it about 3 times i recall it resets the idle controll valve sorting the issue also, cheers for reminding me of that!1 user thanked this post: -
#19I've done this to my 1.4
easy enough
-
#21I have also done this, definitely worth it. More air more bang more go ha.
I have a mk1 vtr inlet for sale if you need. -
#22well I got injectors and that with my inlet but didnt put them on as I searched and found that it could cause over feuling and bore wash? whatever that means so yeah I didnt use themQuote:You running vtr injectors too mate? trying to figure out if its worth bothering with
-
#23Exactly my reasoning chapQuote:I have also done this, definitely worth it. More air more bang more go ha.
I have a mk1 vtr inlet for sale if you need.
I'll get back to you, just i'm bidding on one on ebay atm, out of curiosity how much would you be looking for?
EDIT: He just accepted my offer so have an inlet on the way, cheers anyway chap
Well i did worry about that, but i'll be caming it as well so i'll be remapping my ecu so i'm hoping i can work round the over fueling problem that may arise! All just theory at the moment though, still looking around. -
#24Ahh okay yeah it says on the post that will be okay if remap ect.Quote:Well i did worry about that, but i'll be caming it as well so i'll be remapping my ecu so i'm hoping i can work round the over fueling problem that may arise! All just theory at the moment though, still looking around.
But yeah tbh I noticed the slight bit of difference but imo not enough to go through all the hassell of installing the inlet.1 user thanked this post: -
#25iv been running the r inlet and injectors for over a year no issues engine still runs sweet so totally up to you!
-
#26So my fello furio owners can ya tell the difference with Vtr inlet on ?
-
#28i have fitted rallyie inlet and used a oil breather filter on the icv and made a plate to mount the maf sensor now idles like it has standard inlet
-
#29I know but its more for something to do than anything tbh with ya! With a little bonus in it so win win!Quote:Ahh okay yeah it says on the post that will be okay if remap ect.

May need some more info on your genius solution at some point mate haha, so if you get a message from me, thats what its aboutQuote:i have fitted rallyie inlet and used a oil breather filter on the icv and made a plate to mount the maf sensor now idles like it has standard inlet

#30sorry to bump this up again, but is there any difference between the normal saxo 8v 1.4 compared to a 8v 1.4 quicksilver pug? ? They look the same and i've tried to search for the specs on the two with little success! any help?
-
#31Both 1.4's are the same.
-
#32righto cheers pal
-
#33hey dude, have you considered running a set of rallye injectors and inlet+throttle body?
-
#34I reckon you'd get overfuelling like crazy. I had to put in a lower rated FPR to drop mine down a bit and thats on a vtr setup with full s2 rallye engine
-
#35Rallye injectors are fatter as well iirc
-
#36I did, but i got told it would overfuel like mad. But however i was planning on remapping it when i get cams, also with a 421 with a different exhaust. So i might stick to my standard one for now. . then get a larger inlet when i've got everything together ready to go on and do it all at once. Not sure when or how much that would be exactly!
-
#37well i have a s2 inlet, loom and unlocked ecu and got a few s1 injectors and fuel rail so pm me if you want any!Quote:I did, but i got told it would overfuel like mad. #38Got a loom already, how much for the ecu for now?
-
#40where exactly you based mate? you have told me before just forgot lol
-
#42okay mate, i'll let you know friday if thats alright? You 100% sure its unlocked and will work with my 1.4 yeah? ?
-
#43well i think you might need my loom and inlet though! hence why i got the full setup! can do you a good deal for the lot and ill help fit it if needed?
-
#44what loom and inlet is it? would rather not get another loom as i've already got one you know :/
-
#45
-
#46tell you what i'll pm you friday. . my wages differ week to week so i'll let you know! cheer s
