Brake Light Failure

  1. #1
I know they're a pretty simple replacement however I seem to be having trouble with my drivers side brake light.

Obviously, its not working and I tried replacing it - no luck.
I did find a bit of a white acid corrosion on the connection so I cleaned it off best I could and tried a new bulb - still no luck.

Does anyone have any tips? I thought it might be a fuse but I wouldn't of thought a single fuse would control just one light? Also below that, some kind of wiring problem?

Anyone got some tips for me?

Get a new rear light cluster from a scrappy

Fuse will be for both brake lights

Get a voltmeter on a clean part of the holder to see if there is any current going to the bulb holder

Bite the bullet and get a new board from a scrappy. Mine failed as the foglight wouldn't work, could get it to come on if i wiggled it but thats not ideal. New board and 5 minutes work and its perfectly fine

+1 on a new board, it's a piss easy job and the end result will be 100% more reliable. Come winter and moisture you don't want to deal with fuses blowing up all the time.
