hi guys building low boost turbo kit for my vts have a t25 have a manifold a modified sump downpipe 1.9mm headgasket and wideband a/f i have put togeather all these parts fairly cheep so need some way off controlling fuel untill i can afford standalone i have 182 injectors too but unsure if these any any good to me also is standard fuel pressure ok and does anyone have any exxperiance using a fifth injector ? any advise would be greatly appreciated thanks
low boost turbo fifth injector???

#2How low is low boost? You could get away with just a higher pressure fuel regulator and resitor mod if your talking really low boost.
Next step is something like a MF2 with a single or duel injector in your inlet. Only problem is the more fuel you add the more the stock ECU fights you.
Next step is MF2 combined with a SigCon2 (or SigCon 3). This SigCon stops the stock ECU leaning out the fuel. -
#3thanks thats what i wanted to hear and will be at 8 psi max what sorta psi we talking for uprated fuel pressure ?? and is this the collant temp sensor mod you are talking about
-
#4how does the sigcon work???
-
#5The SigCon is a signal conditioner. It effectively takes engine senor signals and can manipulate them to trick the stock ECU to do what you are after. For boosted cars one of its most useful aspects is that it can trick the ECU to ignore the O2 sensor. As the biggest problem with turbo cars is running to lean. If you add more fuel with out a SigCon 2 ( or 3 ) the stock ECU will see the extra fuel and lean it in mid throttle situations. Defiantly not desirable.
As for what is best for your application that is hard to say. You are looking to run over half a bar of boost with relatively high compression so it would be all down to hoe cool you can get it to run and how consistent you can get the air fuel ratio. If you can get a cheap injector driver for a 5th injector that may be worth a try to start. -
#6great thanks very helpfull bit off advice what kind off air fuel ratios am i after under full boost keeping in mind ide probly like it more on the rich side than lean? in all you guys experiance whats a good starting point for fuell pressure and is the standard fuel pump up too the job sorry for all the questions im a fully qualified mechanic and i constintsally hound all the other guys for advice and ideas but theve all lost interest years ago so though this was next best place lol cheers

#7anyone got a link or any info on resister modd and what are the limitations for this?
-
#8you are looking to be in the 14s around light throttle driving. Standard fuel pump would be fine.
Resister mod just goes in the temp sensor but your probably best ignoring I mentioned that as it does not really do the job and defiantly not for the application your looking. Next to no one actually does it like this but it can be done.
If you do not wish to go for 5th injector but do wish to run more boost you can fit larger injector and then a adjustable boost proportionate fuel pressure regulator. The bigger injector will give to much fuel and then the pressure regulator will drop it back down. Again no one really does it like this but it would still alow you to run a fair amount of boost. -
#9how would the extra injector be wired in this way ? wire it into the original injection loom on the car or put it on a toggle or some sort off pressure switch to trigger injector ive heard cold start injectors work well this true? not really up for spending thousands really just like playing with things myself and understanding how they work rather that paying someone else for sumthing i could do myself are there any other injector drivers on the market onther than mf2 that any1 had dealt with i know fifth injector is a bit old school now put any advice would be great
-
#10and are the 182 injectors any good?
-
#11You need a mini ECU to run the 5th injector. The MF2 was the most common when this was still done often. The MF2 is really easy to use. You use a screwdriver to adjust fueling. The extra injector is just T off the original fuel line. A few of my friends have used mini ECUs other then the MF2 there are many out there but I could not tell you much about them. I know one that still has a Apexi unit in there car. Most people just use stand alone managment these days like a Omex or Predictor.

#13quality just i recon i could pick up an injector driver for the fraction off the price off standalone plus mapping costs ect

#14If your on the AXOC ( AX owners club ) I think AXnutty had a few mf2s still. I think he is still on there anyhow.1 user thanked this post:

#15spot on mite have a look any chance droping him a pm for me? any other top advice to be had on here?
-
#16Probably easiest if i just I will PM you guys contact details. I think he has MF2 SigCon3 manifolds turbos and well everything you would need1 user thanked this post:
