At the weekend I resealed the camshaft covers on my VTS, it took a few attempts but I eventually used the technique of allowing the silicone sealant to fully cure overnight, effectivly giving me a brand new rubbery gasket, then refitting the covers onto the engine.
I can't see any oil leaks from the sealant filled gaps which is good, but now it appears I have a leak from the oil filler cap. I'll buy a new cap no worries, but my question is: The rear camshaft cover has crankcase ventilation outlets to vent pressure build-up, but the front camshaft cover doesn't? Can this pressure somehow flow out of the engine?
