How do I tell inlet from exhaust

    I've just bought some Newman ph3 cams and I don't no which one is inlet and which one is exhaust one has DNC1076 and the other is DNC1077 any ideas guys ?

    email them, they reply pretty quickly in working hours

    It should be stamped on the end. IL & EX should be on the end of the shafts.

    Failing that, those part numbers should be pretty easy to find on their web page.

    76 is INLET and 77 is exhaust.

    its cast onto the shaft, raised writing between the lobes at some point, just fitted mine the other month.

    you shouldnt be able to mix them up anyway, as the cams have offset lumps on them which hit part of the head casting if put in the wrong way round.

    Cheers Colin guess I fitted them right as they sat in nicely just trying to find out the best place for the pulleys to be timed if you can help out ?

    stock marks isnt a bad place to start, but for optimisation you cant beat a dyno to prove they are in optimum timing for your engine/exhaust set up.
