VTR Poor Deceleration below 2k Revs

  1. #1
Hi guys the car runs alright but when i am coasting in gear say approaching a roundabout it will decelerate as it should until it hits 2k then it just burbles, splutters and occasionally pops until I either depress the clutch and let it idle, add some more gas and nurse it out of the spluttering or on the odd occasion in 3rd or 4th it may only splutter of a few RPM then carry on decelerating to idle..

Its really bugging me and would like a point in the right direction from somebody who has a idea what it could be..

    Cheers

does it have a standard exhaust system (and manifold) or aftermarket?

I would like to add when below 2k and spluttering there is no engine brake and I have to rely 100% on the brakes

Standard system with cats and a 3" backbox on it.

I had a Decat pipe but removed it for the MOT a couple of months back and never got around to fitting it.. The problem has only just started these past couple of weeks.

Could be a faulty lambda sensor or a problem with your throttle body?

Can you get access to a diagnostics machine?
