soo umm yeah oil filter casing decided to get too hot and bubble and lose nearly all of its oil

has anyone seen this before or had it done to them?
  2. #2
Not seen that before. Might be worth considering converting to a screw in type oil filter. Looks very messy though.
  3. #3
It did that with the standard mani there aswell?

    enjoy cleaning that up
  4. #4
    Wtf never seen that before
  5. #5

Not sure why when you could of fitted a standard mani that would of fitted without "cut and shutting it" and saved you that job. :/

    Just sayin though.

my mistake on my behalf its mani and pipe we had off 106 due to not having the cat on it we thought it would of fitted but didnt so had to bend it (by cutting and re welding up)

So you taken the mk2 manifold with cat off and fitted the mk1 manifold to de-cat it?

You need to convert the oil filter to a mk1 filter with the insert and the m10 bolt in the return.

I don't think I am allowed to tell you that I sell these kits so use the search function.

standard mani, or 4/2/1. i dont get why people mess about with other manifolds when so many are available.
has that saxo been crashed? inner wings look bent in more than i remember them looking and the lower front panel is abit bannana. . .
  13. #13
inner wing was fooked as the recovery people tried pushing me off the track and dented wings and for the lower cross member was where i was fecking about in a field lol ill put a pic up what recovery did

Without trying to sound like too much of a cock, your are aware how stupid you've been? And lucky your car didn't burst into flames?

But as said, convert to mk1 oil filter and get a better mani
  15. #15
Ive had this before, luckily i caught the smoke coming out the engine bay and switched the cunt off! mine didnt bubble, more like.. exploded and put a big hole in the side of the plastic casing, this was about 2 years ago, but i was doing 110 mph at the time, dial's read fine and everything lol
  16. #16
Shouldn't do it on standard mani though
  17. #17
    That's a good 1!
  18. #18
If you put a mani from a mk1/106 etc before they put the cat in the manifold you need to move the oil filter...
  19. #19
Luckally it happened after the race, i turned car off got out collected trophy and got back into car turned ign on then it happened.... Thanks for what you have said as said before chage to metal one and may try it after my ally one is/has been welded
