Bmc cda or raceland green filter?

I know people will say search but all I get when using the search is pages or for sale and project threads!

Basically I bought a vtr with a bmc fitted and am currently running it with a modified raceland scoop for a cold air feed..

I'm considering putting this setup up for swaps for a raceland with a green filter..

Anyone know the pros/ cons of each or can recommend which to go for resulting in better gains with a stainless 421 and a straight through pipe from that?

This is my current setup, I removed the filter from the raceland then made the scoop fit

    I lol'd

Guessing you couldn't decide which one you wanted

Haha had a spare raceland that was all cracked at the front and didn't have a cold airfeed for the bmc so I bodged one up for it

Give the BMC a good clean and an oil and you will probably notice more of a difference. I'd just keep this setup

that's some serious filtration going on there where you planning on driving it a quarry?

If you read it properly there's no filter in the raceland... It's just for cold air

Doesn't bother me what it looks like when it's under a closed bonnet..
I want to know which is better a raceland induction with a green filter or a cda!

yeh i did read it properly and tbh its a stupid system, first and foremost i'd suggest you do abit of fluid mechanics research particularly looking at the VENTURI EFFECT!

it's basic plumbing mate that demonstrates when a pipe diameter is reduced the pressure across that section of pipe is reduced therefore the velocity increases to achieve the same mass flow rate. On the other hand when the pipe diameter increases the pressure increases reducing the velocity flow to achieve the same mass flow rate.

So what your crappy system is doing is creating huge pressure differentials in your intake system, first the flow velocity increases from the slam panel to the back of the cold air feed then its slowed back down again because the CDA diameter is bigger than the cold air feed diameter plus its filtered there creating more pressure then its reduced again to the standard plenum size! my advice sack of the CDA

i have to say from experience i dislike bmcs tried a few pipeworks into mine and never made decent gains

had a GREEN (raceland style) and that worked well but i now have a 16v stock airbox a K&N filter and some nice cold air from the widemouth of the bumper and i have a much nicer result i feel

i think 90% of induction kits are just for show tbh

    Looks a bodge
    As said
90% of induction kits are for show - mine included
Get the standard setup back on with a good panel filter and get rid of the bodge!
