Bit of a curious issue, got the car fully on the road today.
And all good, managed to do some mapping and getting it running nicely..
Gotta admit open throttle bodies and an un baffled exhaust sounds pretty sick lol
anyway...
when i got back from an hour out, i pulled away from a junction with a little vigour
wheels a spinning and suddenly smelt the dreaded hot oil smell, car still drove fine, didnt feel like id broke anything, just a stick of hot oil
pulled into driveway, got out to find oil on the floor and immediately thought OH SHIT
popped hood to find the oil return pipe had blown out of the hole on the side of the head ?
so questions
why would this blow out?
im monitoring oil pressure, hits 4.5 to 5bar at 7000 rpm's, 1 to 1.5 at idle of 1200 rpm
return pipe is bolted solid, just the fitting is loose as owt... just flops out?
so idea... start a fresh and fit new pipe fittings 1/2" NPT to tap head then run a new braided return line and fit that to return pipe
another quickie.....
I've used one of the cam oil galley ports for oil pressure, is the other seeing the same oil movement for oil temp?
