  1. #1

basically your problem is the mk1 manifold you have is designed for the mk1 oil filter set up.

you need to convert your current oil set up to a mk1 design and then your manifold wont hit the shitty mk2 set up...

    -edit- guide here for you.

I`ll take a wild guess at this & suggest, would it not be possible to heat the downpipe up.Then bend it carefully so it provides enough clearance,or am I talking b+llocks lol?

Cheers for the idea but I think its just 2 short to fit even if i bent it it wouldnt line up with the gearbox bolt hole its a good 2 inches away.. Sure I must have the wrong one :/

Is it an aftermarket downpipe of standard one?

Its a standard mk1 manifold and downpipe with the 1 lambda hole in it, i'm not sure what engine its off but i just figured 8vs all had the same fitment?

Ive made the same mistake, if its a 1.1 downpipe they seem to be shorter by an inch or so which makes the gbox mount foul the sump. Even had the same problem on my mk2 mani, got a barely used cat from a 1.1 and had to grind off the mount, even then it sat odd and rattled!

i know im new but are the two diffrent sumps? as some cars do change the sumps on them where theres a diffrent stye exhaust on the same engine.
