Have a piper 4-1 for my mk2 VTR
Nice fitment, stainless so no rust
Good sound, no rasp on mine - piper cat back system
Really opens mid to top end up!

Piper 4-1 is so much better. Stainless steel and superior workmanship = win

    Piper
    Pros
    will out last the car
    will give better gains
    will sound loads better
will look better in the engine bay

    Cons
    will cost abit

    Sportex

    Pros
    its cheap
    sound better than std setup
    will gain some gains

    Cons
will rust after a few years

So really it down to what your after, If your after the best and want the best Piper is your man, If your after a quick cheap gain then sportex is what your after....

I'd go for Piper out the 2

Sportex are "ok" but they're mild and will rust a few months down the line.

If the system has been painted its not stainless

I know piper did used to give the option of s/s or m/s for a cat bk but im pritty sure the manifolds have always been s/s...

The system and the manifold are not painted
Therefore my piper products are stainless
Bought in January as said so unsure if stuff has changed since then?

Yeah manis are all stainless ^^see my edit, I never read the thread, only the last comment lol

Think they've stopped making stainless now to keep costs down (might be someone else.. Possibly scorpion/Saxport)

    I can't remember

One of the big brands has anyway

Its the other way round. Aluminised steel is becoming more expensive. Piper stopped making their steel products. Supersprint are currently phasing it out.
