VTS Engine tapping.. Help

   Basically i have a furio 16v.. and had it a about a week now and yesterday the engine started tapping.. Ive checked the oil level and thats fine.
   
   Im thinking off doing a oil change with thicker oil, Would this help it?
   
   Any other things i can do/check?

   Adjust tappets.
   
   Valves have Hydrolic tappets iirc.

   Hydaulic tappets self adjust through oil pressure.
   
   First port of call for me would be an oil and filter change, using a Purflex filter and a 10w-40 ACEA A3/B4 oil.
   
   That said it is important to work out what is tapping, in case you're causing damage running the car.

   Oil change and filter is what I have planned on Friday (payday)... Just wondering to see what all you guys think!

   they will start to tap slightly over time as the seals in the tappets wear, oil degrades and just general milage on said engine, but some good quality oil can help quieten things down.

   Just out of curiosity, but can you hear the tapping inside the car or just with the hood up?
   If the latter are you sure its not just your injectors ticking ?

    Can't hear it inside the car, only on the outside.. sometimes only when hood up sometimes when it isnt up...
    
    Today it hasn't ticked at all lol =s

    next time you hear it, lift the hood and put your fingers on an injector see its in time to the ticking, other wise take a long flat head screw driver and touch it to the side of the head and touch your ear to the butt/handle and youll hear if the ticking is inside the head
