MOT problem

    Hi everyone,

Will my car pass it's MOT in Northern Ireland if the air bag light is on?

If it wont, can anyone tell me how to get it off?

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the airbag cable from underneath the seat but it hasn't made ny difference?

I managed to clear my light by removing the whole unit, as i didn't even have an airbag.

I wouldn't no where to begin with removing the whole unit?

Will the airbag light come on when I turn over the key once?

I think they check this now for MOT's over here

you definitely shouldnt take the clocks apart, put black tape over where the airbag light is and put them back in to just get it through the mot

You can fool some testers if you cover the airbag light, as the passenger airbag de-activation light still goes on and off.

Remove the airbag module. It's one plug. Under/behind the centre console. Easy job. If you're unsure have a search. There's lots of guides

It's in "front" of the gearstick iirc under the ashtray mounted to the floor.

disconnect the battery before unplugging it.

also, make sure there's nothing on the interior which says "airbag" cos you'll fail if no light comes on too

You will need to peel the carpet back.
