Umm new to saxos, got a 2001 vtr and im currently getting around 30-35 miles to a tenner... This is driving sensibly... What do others get to a tenner? Any suggestions

    Wait, 30?

I get about 80 miles to £10 worth of petroleum in my 2002 Saxo VTR. Just have a K and N panel filter and a Supersprint CAT back 2" race exhaust system engine wise. Thats normal driving. But I'm a pretty smooth driver. Often change gear around the 4 or 4.5k rpm mark.

About 465 miles per 45 litre tank.

Don't remember the last time I just put a tenner in

if fuel is £1.30 thats roughly 19mpg, something is properly wrong. A service never hurts, but i would be looking at everything.
rear brakes sticking? all four tires nearly flat, your stuck in first gear? god knows.

51mpg! i sweepingly said 'i get the same' I get more realistically about 45mpg driving steadily, but i live around nice A roads. I accelerate gently, coast and carry speed through the corners.

The gf normally gets 37-40mpg in her 2001 vtr

which works out to 65-70 to £10.... working off £1.30 per litre

That's piss poor MPG mate, I would give it a good service.

My Clio does better than that when im pushing it.

i would also look the length of the fuel line for leaks!

Going to do oil filter and oil, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs and a dash of redex over the weekend. Hopefuly that will solve a few problems. Whilst its on the ramp i will check for fuel leaks but never get any smells.

I have had mine fully serviced recently and everything is as it should be and is immaculate, when I brim the car fully with fuel I only get 290 miles every time before it goes back on too red light. Why is this?

Something is seriously wrong... Done full service i put £20 in and got 150miles befor the light came on
