Sportex back box noise

   I fitted a 3" sportex back box and am finding it far too droning it's almost deafening atcertain revs. I have a standard centre box and cat so just wondered if anyone could recommended something more raspy rather than deafening

   Get a better make, ss kamracing piper etc.. Sportex are known to make ears bleed.

   That's what I thought about mine loved it to begin with but really grated on me after a while I just drove slower and turned my music up

   Cat back Magnex ftw.
   Best exhaust for the saxo imo. But as you're after raspy then as Cam said, Kam racing, Saxsport etc.
   Sportex are pretty budget and known to make a lot of noise!

   with a cat and mid box it shouldn't be that loud.
   are you sure its not blowing?
   The sportex silencer they offer on the saxo systems doesnt silence as much as others though so you could try another.

   Definitely not blowing suppose you get what you pay for. Think I'll save up for something better

   hmm i have a 3" sportex bk box on a standard center section on my vtr n tbh it sounds a beaut ? no ear bleeding no droning ...... if anything shes a bit shy lol

   However a Magnex sounds just right with a decent manifold/decat. Looks decent too.
   Second option for me would be Kam Racing's system.

    So reading the comments it would appear magnex are a better alternative to sportex (In terms of the sound I want) so just to check before I start trawling eBay, will a magnex backbox fit straight onto a standard centre section?

    I had a Sportex on my Corsa C, 3" outward rolled, didnt sound too bad, and when i decatted it, it became pretty raspy and popped when changing up gears (2nd>3rd) but it was certainly droney on the motorway!
    
    Save your pennys and get a Kamracing/Supersprint system or even a Saxsport system, thats what i have on mine, decat it and it will sound the nuts! Best thing is go on Youtube and put like 'saxo sportex' or 'saxo supersprint' and see what you like best! Ive heard the Kam or Supersprint systems are very raspy but again, youtube and see what you enjoy..

    Saxsport, i run one with a cat, its deeper rather than raspier, but that goes for all unless you decat really!

    When you come down to mine on which ever day we decide i will take a look at that, its either blowing its tits off or you dont have a centre silencer/cat. Its way to noisy to be a standard cat-midpipe-scorpion backbox.

    Doesnt sound like its blowing, just sounds like an typical sportex noisy backbox, probably without a centre silencer but maybe not
