Certain electrics not working.

Hi guys, on the way to work yesterday my power steering cut out whilst going over a speed bump which was annoying (as I thought great that'll be £££'s to repair and I'm selling it soon), but on the way home I noticed my Air blower and rear de-mister also didn't work, so a quick consult of the manual and realised these were all connected by a 25A fuse in position 'F2', so I removed the fuse and visually inspected it and it seemed fine but I swapped it for a spare one just in case, typically this didn't solve the issue.

Please can anyone bounce some ideas off me? Just some things I could check tomorrow before going to a mechanic on Monday.

Not sure if this is of relevance. I used to have a small electrical issue.
The said items above would not work when I fist started my car in the cold, the battery light would show (yet I would my music/wipers etc) and I'd either have to let the car run for 4-5 mins or rev it over 2,800rpm for around a minute to get the battery light to disappear and those items to turn back on. I have since changed my battery and have not had this issue repeat itself.

(Thought it was worth mentioning as it's strange it's the same items that have now stopped working. (My battery light is not on by the way))

    Thanks,
    Ryan.

    Thanks,
    Ryan.

I see you're as stumped as I am, I guess a connection has popped out somewhere...Brilliant.

I reckon alternator, the PAS runs from this directly and if its duff then it wont come on

What about connection from alt to pas then? but would this also have an effect on my air blowers/rear de-mister?

Had a new alt fitted in march last year and new battery in nov, car starts fine, all other electrics works fine.

when my alt went before I had all kind of issues, dimming headlights, PAS turning off etc, so I think the alt is fine, I'll stick a multimeter on it tomoz

I just think it's wierd that all the things that don't work are linked to a single fuse, isit possible connection has popped out somewhere? Or a wire has broke?

I wish people would read the FAQ thread more often...

Okay, I've read the FAQ many times but never noticed that.

    Thanks for the reply though.
