Just worked out that I've got 33mpg from a full tank out of my 1.4. How does that compare to others? I don't think its too bad, i wasn't driving eco or anything like that so.....
Good MPG?

#2Crap, my brother was getting around 40-45 standard driving.
-
#3bloody'ell fair play to him. need to get checked out then. any ideas?!
-
#4Filled up when I was on red. £53 - did 402 miles until red light.
16v - 65mph - motorway.
Around town i get 100-120 miles from £20. -
#5what you think its causing my shite mpg then?
i haven't got a heavy foot, i rarely go above 3000 revs unless on the motorway. -
#6your car is over fueling really badly or you must have a fuel leak 33mpg from a furio is bad i think.
I've got a x reg (2000) furio with vtr inlet , 4-2-1 manifold , decat/full exhaust system and induction and i can get around 43-46mpg motorway/normal driving but when driving very hard i think ive calculated 35mpg. -
#7all depends on how and where you were driving tbh
i get anywhere from 25-40mpg in my vtr -
#8Also remember that the really cold weather will affect your MPG.
Currently driving a Subaru Legacy GTB, in the summer it averages about 22mpg, at the moment i'm struggling to get 17! Consider yourself lucky! -
#9I get 38-42mpg in my phase 2 VTR no matter how i drive it.
-
#10I wouldn't worry about getting 33mpg from a furio.
It's probably just down to where you live and how you drive, road conditions etc.
I get 28mpg from my GTI, I don't drive it hard either.
IF you're worried about fuel economy, get a 1.5D. guaranteed 50mpg
-
#11How well a car is maintained also affects mpg as well,as do tyre pressures.
-
#12Yeah i live in a town sort of area, with shite loads of traffic lights within short distances, more roundabouts than you can imagine and nothing is close to me in terms of shops and stuff, so i end up having to go into the main town. Not good for MPG i suppose.
-
#13Errrm its maintained fairly well, i haven't had it long but its had a new back box and middle pipe within 3 months, the bay is regularly cleaned and any work that needs doing is done straight away, no fannying about.Quote:How well a car is maintained also affects mpg as well,as do tyre pressures.
I do need to check the tyre pressure though
-
#14I did 20mpg in the vtr once. Awful.
Personal worst of 45mpg in the 206, that was all town driving in shit weather. -
#15I just got my engine de-carboned and I'm getting 55mpg with a kam racing back box n st8 trough pipe
-
#1920?! Wow, you must of been booting the shite out of that everywhere! I've just got 38mpg out of this tank, so its slowly but surely improvingQuote:I did 20mpg in the vtr once. Awful.

checked all the tyre pressures as well today and got them sorted out
-
#20Yeah, the snow was a bitch and these cold mornings aren't helping either. Bloody'ell, I know someone with an RX8 just about doing 17 mpg so i feel kinda luckyQuote:Also remember that the really cold weather will affect your MPG.

#21There is a group call terraclean they hook a pipe to the fuel supply and run the engine on a cleaning agent for 45 mins it removed all carbon from injectors valves head inlet manifold and the complete exhaust it's a new system being used and I was only trained up there last week at Citroen for it so I took it home and did my two Saxo's and my my family's cars also improved running and got rid of the jerking on my Astra vxr
-
#22Meh I get about 14mpg
-
#23Heard about that not so long ago will probably get more popular, sounds pretty good then heard a horror story off one lad that did a same sort of thing but the carbon wasn't broken down ended up in sump and blocked oil strainer and the pickup fucked his engine but tbh he is pretty stupid probably did it wrong.
-
#24i get about 40-45mpg driving the VTR. 450miles to a tank.
-
#25How much would it cost?Quote:There is a group call terraclean they hook a pipe to the fuel supply and run the engine on a cleaning agent for 45 mins it removed all carbon from injectors valves head inlet manifold and the complete exhaust it's a new system being used and I was only trained up there last week at Citroen for it so I took it home and did my two Saxo's and my my family's cars also improved running and got rid of the jerking on my Astra vxr

#26This is a fuel additive so won't be anywhere near the oil etc anless ya head gasket is fucked then its your own fault for not fixing the car you have to sign a form stating ya car is in good condition for the work to carry outQuote:Heard about that not so long ago will probably get more popular, sounds pretty good then heard a horror story off one lad that did a same sort of thing but the carbon wasn't broken down ended up in sump and blocked oil strainer and the pickup fucked his engine but tbh he is pretty stupid probably did it wrong.

#28Ah I see one he used was additive goes in the oil you run it for however long drop oil for fresh supposed to take all shit out.
-
#29I like the sound of that! Where abouts in the UK did you get it done?! They seem like a small company at the minute with limited service centers?! Hope to god this isnt the case.Quote:There is a group call terraclean they hook a pipe to the fuel supply and run the engine on a cleaning agent for 45 mins it removed all carbon from injectors valves head inlet manifold and the complete exhaust it's a new system being used and I was only trained up there last week at Citroen for it so I took it home and did my two Saxo's and my my family's cars also improved running and got rid of the jerking on my Astra vxr

#30bike carb set up is incredible for mpg.
