swapping a 3plug loom to a one plug loom

  1. #1
the vts loom i have is a one plug ecu (i dont know if this counts for every vts) however the furio im putting the vts engine into has a 3plug ecu, is one ecu better than the other for modding? and is it just the case of swapping the engine loom straight over to change ecus?

You have to look at the plug the joins the car loom as there is two different types on most the phase 2 models 2001 on is this oneClick image for larger version

    36 pins in that plug

But some do have the older looms with two plugs

If you have the same plug as pictured then the vts loom will fit as long as the plugs are the same

yeah there both one plug fitments next to battery, so is it just the case of swopping loom, ecu, chip and transponder?
  4. #4
your 1 plug vts probly wont fit a 3 plug furio unless both cars are crossover looms. what reg is the furio?

If the vts plugs in to that plug then ya good to go for vts conversion you will need the fuel lines tho but most spi Saxo's have the lines you need
  6. #6
Don't for get the ecu must match the chip box and key
  7. #7
so im good to go then is it much of a pain to put the return fuel line off the vts onto the furio?

No it's not but it does help if the two front seats are removed to get the carpet out as I'm doing mine today if you want I could get a few pics to show you

that would be great, how did you get on?

it wont start, swapped engine and loom, clocks, key, black box and ecu but immobiliser light ius still on, any ideas?
  11. #11
    Ecu is locked
  12. #12
but that ecu is for that blackbox and chip and engine so surely it should still run?
  13. #13
So much easier to just get an unlocked ecu and unplug the immobiliser, I would just buy an unlocked one and make life 100x easier

i think my main problem is the fact that these two plugs are the same size and 36pins but the 1.4 plug has 20wires and the vts has 21 and the wires are totally different, help please

Put a picture of each plug up. Youve gone about this the longest way possible you didnt need the key, pick up or immo box you can unlock the ecu when you remove it from the car.

i didnt unlock it because i waas told if i change ecu transponder and chip it would work, i dont think there is a problem with the ecu its gotta be the plug differences

    vts

    furio
  17. #17
i cant get pictures on either, the 2000 vts has 21 and 2001 furio has 20

The amount of pins dosent matter its the location that maters use photobucket. Some plugs syill have the 3 aircon wires for example.

Have uou still got the vts?
  19. #19
    yes its here with me
  20. #20
You should of just unplugged the vts ecu/immo box whilst ignition was on that unlocks them. Throw a photo of each plug up using photobucket so I can see the pin layout.

    vts " border="0" class="tcattdimglink" onload="NcodeImageResizer.createOn(this);" alt="" />

    furio" border="0" class="tcattdimglink" onload="NcodeImageResizer.createOn(this);" alt="" />

    Use the img code
  23. #23
    vts
  24. #24
    Still doing it wrong mate
  25. #25
    vts

    furio

  26. #26
    anyone got these plug diagrams?
  27. #27
Yea they don't work together mate the furio is a 3 plug later type pin layout and the vts is a crossover pin layout. Ignition live, starter & fuel pump are the only pins that are the same. You need the loom splicing.
  28. #28
I've got a spliced loom and unlocked delimited ecu for sale.

Loom is 3 plug to single plug engine loom.
