basically do the s2 rallye engines fit in the mk1 vtr without changing anything? just a simple swap ? or do you need loom ecu blah blah? fanksss
s2 rallye engine in mk1 vtr??

#1
-
#2Will fit straight off, but youll need the ecu as well. I have an unlocked rallye ecu for sale btw.
-
#3is it wort it doing because isnt it like a 15bhp gain over the std mk1 vtr? will the inlet fit and the coilpack off my vtr ? on the s2 lump if the ecu is all i need i might give it a whirl what you wanting on the ecu?
-
#445 for the ecu. The manifolds off your vtr engine will fit yeah :-)
15bhp difference, more revs. And the insurance wouldnt know, if youre so inclined lol -
#5you dont technically need the ecu, it'll run on VTR stuff but fitting the s2 ecu would be nice. Better management system/map.
The ECU from a s2 isnt going to fit a mk1 vtr loom though, you'll need an s2 loom and splice it in the body loom on the vtr -
#6ant going through all that trouble if i can run my ecu ? will get it all mapped up after , is the s2 engines coilpack ?
-
#7Waste of time and effort
-
#9You do need the ecu as the map will be away to fuck on a vtr, and rallye peak power is past the vtr rev limiter lol
-
#10Peak power is at 6200 rpm on the 1600 s2, so inside the VTR rev limiter but only just. If you can though, run the ECU for the job or have the car mapped. I intend to at some point
-
#11To get the best out of that engine you'll need to the ecu.. The ecu runs a difference ecu plug to a vtr loom, so you'll need the rallye loom, which runs a different chassis side plug to a vtrQuote:why tho my engine is burning a litre and a half of oil a week , im dooing it because i need a new engine not because i want to, and was going to do it instead of putting a mk1 vtr engine back in
Which means you'll need it re plugged
If you want more power, bang a vts engine in, Least it'll be something you'll actually notice on the road
If you're happy With the power you have then just fit the vtr engine.. Cheap and easy -
#12Thing is though an s2 rallye engine isn't going to be any worse than a standard vtr engine if you fit one, but don't be expecting huge gains from it
-
#13sticking with a vtr engine i forgot the chassis plugs are different on pugs , cba with vts engine conversion as i had one and changed my mind when my vtr kept up with one ! my rallye inlet should be going on this week if i recive it in time what are these like on the vtrs performance gain wise i no they soud awsome with them onQuote:To get the best out of that engine you'll need to the ecu.. #14that VTS must have had a serious problem if a VTR kept up with it.
And probably no gain at all, it'll just sound a bit better -
#15I thought you were getting a 16v fitted mate?
-
#17ah ok should of just out it in you would have got more than 15hp then!
P.S they dont fit straight in if you use the correct ecu & loom as said above
