Saxo vtr power run

  1. #1
Thought I would post up about vtr, I no they get alot of stick for not being a vts but hey they are two diffrent cars, I'm running all mods spec as follows
    Supersprint mani
    Saxsport pipe
    Bmc type induction
Piper ultimate fast road cam(roller rocker)
    Lightweight pulleys including cam pully
    Lightweight flywheel (3.4kg)
Ported and knife edged throttle body
    4 bar fuel reg
    Ngk iridium plugs
    10w40 castrol magnatec
    Running v power
    Oil breather/swirl pot
    Piper valve springs

Had it remapped on the rolling road and it made
130 ft lb and 118hp (fly figures)
There wasn't a massive improvement in peak figures only a couple of horse power but it improved the mid range by a few hp and keept the torque higher for longer, on the road it feels much better through the gear changes and I was also able to have the rev limit lifted up to 7k, not that will be using that high, engine was still making 100 hp at 6700 rpm which wasn't to bad, only cost me 150 quid and it was worth that just to get the afr spot on, hope all the VTRs should now no wat to be expecting once tuned, I dnt Wana here you should of just got a vts because I dnt want 16v, my vtr and two of my freinds pug gtis are all even to 80ish yes they dnt have cams but do have all breathing mods and pipes, I only run out of puff due to the 1.1 gearbox lol, thanks and will post graph later if I can

130 lb/ft!? What road was that done on?
  3. #3
A rolling one, lol, to give a reference to the rollers my ford focus on fri made 285hp and 370lb which was down on what quoted by superchips, should of seen 300hp, and prob would on a more number friendly dyno, like superchips one lol
  4. #4
I know a rolling one lol i mean what type?
  5. #5
Dyno mite , I think was the make, the operater is very good at what he does to, was interesting
  6. #6
So you N/A petrol car produced more torque than HP at the fly? For real? I call bullshit.
  7. #7
With just a mild cam too and the usual breathing mods?
Sounds like quote me happy results in my view
  8. #8
The engines a gooden, only 70k and rebuilt the head when I installed the cam, did get a little work with the dremal but only cleaning sloppy cast really, gearbox is brand new 1.1 item, drive shafts are brand new it got pro race 1.2 alloys, it is in its peak form at moment mybe lol

I can imagine that the improvements from what youve done are very noticeable but 130lb/ft is way to high. You got the graph?

130lbft is in a dream land with them mods! 130nm seems more like it
  12. #12
Na it in ft lb, I realy don't no how to put the graph up otherwise I would
  13. #13
with 118bhp :-\ would keep quite when i see the proof , sign in to photobucket upload photo when done copy ig something code on right hand side then past on here

    What were the wheel figures?
  15. #15
So your aparently making more torque than most cammed 16v with an 8v

    Yea good luck with that
N/a cars dont makes more torque than power.....

  17. #17
Graph of before and after remap, no spectacular gains but also lifted rev limit to 7k rpm
  18. #18
I think that rolling road needs calibrating!
  19. #19
Can i ask why with power dropping off like that raise the limiter??

That torque figure is very unusual......
  20. #20
He Was gonna lower it back down to 6500, but in the end left it didn't see a problem
  21. #21
    Just seems rather pointless
I suppose you could over rev rather than shift in tight corners but unless its a full track car again thats pointless
