Lower Strut on 50mm and Tyres

  1. #1
I'm looking at getting an upper strut to tart under the bay up a little but heard the results are minimal and more placebo than anything, but looking at a Lower Strut brace aswell, I'm lowered on Apex 50mm Kit (Springs/Shocks/Dampers) with 45mm adjusted torsion, now if i was to fit an OMP Lower Strut, would i have umpteen problems with it dragging across the road and end up ripping my front end off or something extreme?

Are they seriously worth the investment? looking to use the car on track sooner or later..

Also, what tyres? want something grippy in the dry and something decent in the wet, may be used for fast road/track days.. seems the Apex kit is pretty stiff on the back end and certainly enjoys going RWD if you lift off, now the rears have mega crackage on the sidewalls so need some new shoes.. so something that will compliment this if possible?

    Thanks!

Lower brace will be fine, will catch now and then over speed humps. It wont destory your front end lol,

Tyre wise i would recommend Uniroyal Rainsport 2's, good tyres all round although i have not used them on a track.

just go over speedbumps one wheel at a time. And the speedbumps with one on each side of the road, just dont let the speedbump go directly under the car. so go in the middle of the road or go either side of the bump

im sure a lower brace on a 50mm wont be lower than what my decat pipe is right now haha

I know what you mean buddy i had the U Clamp on my Saxsport with the studs facing down towards the road (SCHOOL BOY ERROR) and every bump sounded like i was leaving the exhaust on the road! quick bash with the hammer and all is well haha!

Are the Lower Braces worth the investment and easy to fit?

Yes and yes, only pain is holding the nut still when your doing it up.
