1.4 plug and play ecu ?

  1. #1
So the time has come to sort my turbo'd furio out as its not got any fueling changes yet and its running lean.

Is there a plug and play 3 plug ecu out there ?

I know of predator but that's it and don't want to go throughh the trouble of getting my loom spliced so has to be plug and play

No pred is the only p&p

Okay do they make a 3 plug ecu ?
  4. #4
    Yes
    It's about 600 I think
    And second hand are rare

Okay you don't know a rough price for a single plug vts ecu do you ?

Don't know if I should sell my 8v cituning mani and buy a dp blister and wossner pistons as I am getting some more disposable income now.

Could get a better quality manifold then the dp one made for cheaper elsewhere

Single plugs about £500 I think?

I've heard bad things about the dp manifolds, I was tempted to make my own similar to the dp as I'm a welder/fabricater by trade, but I know it will be very easy to screw up and it will be a fair bit of money down the drain.

May get work to price me some metal up and get it bent into 2.5” bends and get a flange off ebay.

I have a vts engine on a stand so that will make life a bit easier

if you are unmapped like mine was I'd suggest doing at least 1 small thing and that is to get a 4 bar fpr from any new vag motor and use that, if you got sigcon then get that on at least then when boost comes on the lambda wont be taking fuel out and will allow the extra bit of fuel to stay not ideal solution but then again my car did 6.5k miles before the engine cried enough but that was more down to mileage than boost

Buy some mandrel bends and get a laser cutter to make some flanges up

Jobs a good un, should be able to make yourself a very nice mani for about £100

Yeah I got a 4bar fpr, and I do have a sigcon and mf2 but its up for sale as I think I'm just going to go 16v as I will be using everything except my cituning manifold and mf2 an sigcon

the Single plug Predator is Plug and Play on the 1.4 8v and 1.6 16v engines, Gav had a turbo with one and it went really well!!

edit: ah 3-plug, yeah I do a 3-plug not been on a 1.4 though yet!
