#2whats it for a citroen 2cv ? it would help if you state the car
-
#3For his vts....... Dp engineering do a good one but you need mega ££££ and all depends what your going to run? Boost? Or cams and a dp inlet ect ect
-
#4Well I'm goin for n/a for now hill bill xsi, but I'm thinking, full saxsport on a supersprint mani, newmans ph3's with a different ecu if I get a sale, new induction kit (not decided yet) maybe sum pullies if some one tells me some good ones, and do something with my inlet... That's for now on my engine, then start messing with clutch n flywheel ect, this isn't a over night thing tho, as suspension n breaks n all that if I get them and my friend helps me fit it all
-
#5Lol and who's the friend who is going to help you fit it all! Aha ha
-
#6does any one know about customizing the standard inlet????
-
#7Customising in what way lol
-
#8can u bore it out for better flow or sumat?
-
#9Its called port & polishing I believe for better airflow.
-
#10You can port and polish the throttle body. But this does not always give you gains. As turbulent air is better for an intake if I remember correctly
-
#12As in this guide. don`t forget also changing the butterfly valve screws for flat head ones will smooth air flow.
-
#13Port and polish worth seeing to then or not really?
-
#14Mine definitely made a difference to the throttle response, worth doing imo
-
#15Port and polish TB saw 2hp on my engine back to back testing.
You cant open out the inlet manifold though its plastic. Making good power is not as simple as just opening a tract or bolting longet trumpets on.
At that spec however id either stick to the standard inlet manifold or go for a bolt on option. Wont give you the best possible power but for the spec it will be fine. -
#16Ive done a couple of 306xsi throttle body swaps now.
They are the same dia as the gti/vts but have external idle control valve setup like the xsi's and ph2 rallyes so possibly the same as early vtr.
Polished it all and smoothed it all nicely. Made up custom throttle cable and simple adapter plate too fit.and even the tps just needed a vsimple adapter plate. Quite straight forward really. Never done back to back RR to compare them. But it certainly felt a bit crisper on the throttle.
il be using the same on the boosted motor..... When i finally get the time -
#17Sounds like it's worth looking into for a more responsive out put, thanks for the info, will look at porting it then for my set up
