knockin noise when clutch released

  1. #1
I have a furio 1.4 noticed the other day when I release the clutch there's a slight knock startinto become more regular

    Anyone know what this is

Engine mount possibly? Knocks every time or with a "quicker" release of the clutch?

Every gear? Engine off too? Give us a bit more detail

Only does it when engines on and with quicker release does it through all gears thought it might be clutch release bearing

if it's in all the gears and does it more when you release the clutch more agressively rather than slipping it in slowly, then I'm more convinced it's an engine mount.

O yeahh cause if you let the clutch out slowly it doesn't knock but does knock most of the time

    exactly

But still does it when idleing aswell as when moving

It would do - you're engaging the whole drivetrain, so rocking the engine.

Get out the car, try to move engine by hand (use force - push/pull top of engine etc. See how much flex there is).

Engine don't rock attal it's comin from the directly from gearbox

so it's not coming from the gearbox mount, which commonly fails, and is bolted directly to the part you think the noise is coming from?

Garages can do a engine mount test, one guy sits in the car rocks the engine with the clutch somebody else inspects the engine bay
