silver top vtr cam

Hi, last week my car decided to spit a spark plug out and took all the threads with it so the heads off and I have another to go back on but thought whilst it's off I may as well uprate the cam, just wanting peoples views of different cams out there.

What spec are you after? Wouldn't personally bother with anything mild unless its a rallye head you are putting on

I have newman ph3 in mine.... I personaly think it is worth it. But i got the cam cheap and have done all the work my self.

    Im running:
    Silvertop (90hp)
    Newman PH3 with vernier pulley
    Rallye 1,3 inlet
    BMC CDA filter
    4-2-1 manifold
    Sports Cat
    Magnex catback

Im running unmapped and i timed up the cam my self. Its a bit lumpy and the ecu sometimes has little problems stabilising the idle. But other then that it runs great.

If you are going to do it put some better valve springs in, when or if you get a remap you can then run a higher rev limit. That said I would convert it to normal rockers over roller ones

I would just go for a complete s1 rallye top end conversion
