Important! : mk2 rocker cover on a mk1 engine?

   Hi i spoke to a friend about this and it would seem possible but would like to know if anyone has done it and it fit fitted and functioned the same.

   If it works the same then im going to recondition one to replace mine as mine is not sitting correct and is cracking ang getting rusty. The only concern i have is the breather pipe, would it be the same diameter to fit the type of breather pipe i have?

   yep same fitment, althought I think the mk1 cover looks better and you can get them new still

   doesn't always fit, the holes are smaller on the later covers

   Would you be refering to the two holes on either end that bolts it down? is this something easily adjusted? also would the breather pipe be the same dmentions?

   I had no problems fitting a later cover to a 1997 engine. Guess you could always enlarge the holes as need be though
