Fuel pump- uprated

  1. #1
Looking to add a new pump, was just going to put a walbro in but thinking a 044 and swirl pot, question time

If I leave the OE Saxo pump in place, then fit a swirl pot, OE pump fills pot and acts as main lift pump, then run the 044 inline after the pot

With new loom and relay for it

    Would this be suitable?

In my head it seems fool proof....

yes this is how I ran my first setup. No problem. 044 is FUCKING noisy though if it's in the car. Put it under the boot floor if you can be arsed.

That's the plan, run the pot and pump under the floor and box them in for protection

    Cheers matey

    Lol

If I'd just went into the track section johns just made a post this morning that would have answered this!

Never mind it'll do for future reference

    for reference:

Thats with an external 255 though, but same principle with the 044 I later changed to.

correct - as run on my car and customers for years.
use a relay to switch the 044 (or whatever secondary pump you plan to use)
certainly cures the fuel starvation issues under hard acceleration when running low fuel levels.

Cheers Colin, getting a bit fed up of having to run over half a tank lol

Why so Ross? Sick of the smell? Or just easier for OE interior?

Easier is the major reason. No smell in ptfe braided hose tho if that's your thing.

Braided is much bulkier with no real advantage so it's gone in the bin

I won't be running braided tbh, I see no real need to waste more money on them for no benefit to myself

Pot and pump will help keep my engine in good shape, after having fuelling issues it's a needed expensive especially when ill be getting some r888
