I own a 1.4i 1996 saxo but I want to get my hands dirty. Any ideas what I should start with?
Cheap Ideas?

#2Check for rust

#4What's it got on it at the minute mod wise?
Anything seem out of the ordinary with it?
When was it last serviced? -
#5Yh start with the basics bud. Make sure engine is in good nick, ie propperly serviced, then move on to suspension, are all bushes in good condition as well as springs dampers etc. Then do the same for the brakes, all in good order. Just basically making sure you have a good solid well looked after base point to start modding.
In my opinion the best place to start modding is suspension, ie lowering and upgrading. Get the handling sorted first, I find my VTS such a little go kart and its only down 30mm.
Brake upgrades next, bigger or possibly just uprated items. Then its down the power route.
Obviously everyone is different but theres my tuppence worth. -
#6Sounds good. I gotta find a place to buy saxo parts

#7Doesn't matter about how old they are, check for rust. Take hammers and screwdrivers. And get poking!

#8Pay for a premium membership so you can get access to the for sale section. You'll get good second hand parts from members.

#9There is rust on the boot but I'm not the best at spraying.

Sorry its dark -
#13As Stevo said, just get a new boot lid. There's plenty to be had.

#14Anything loose? Dash lights on? Funny sounds, clunks or bangs?

#17Well my centre box pipe rusted off near the back box when I was driving to pick up my new Royal Python. So I just ordered a straight through centre pipe. Now I just need mod back box because there's no point putting the standard one back on. Might just buy premium to see the ones for sale.
