Noisy Engine bay

    Hey guys!

The sound of the engine area has been annoying me for some while...

Ive been searching on here, and Ive found a couple of possibly symptoms such as Tappets, Spark plugs, cambelt, altenator belt...

Here is a link to the video....

What do people think is the problem?
    And what needs fixing/replacing?

    Thanks!

    Rockers needing set, most likely.

    Classic rattle. "sounds like diesel"

If I'm allowed to link to 106oc, then there's a good guide there http://106owners.co.uk/forums/showth...Clearances-(8v)

I'm sure there's one on here as well, but I'm rubbish at searching

Some people are a bit funny about posting links to other forums.

I really would discount bottom end noise there. Bottom end on these engines is more like tapping a steel bin with a small hammer. Trust me, I've had first hand experience of that

Take off the alternator belt, and turn the idler and alternator by hand. if there is any roughness, it eneds replaced.

Have you ever heard a saxo with a dodgy crank? It sounds nothing like the one the OP linked lol.
