ABS light on

  1. #1
I have a 2002 vtr with vts conversion which had abs in the vts but I removed it before putting the vts in the vtr and there was no lights on. Then I changed the clocks from the vts to match engine and abs light has came on :s . Both the same clocks from vts only difference I think is the mileage . Any help would be great

    Any info on this please???

You have a 2002 VTR with no ABS?

You have a VTS with ABS, but you removed the system.

You put the VTS engine and loom into the VTR.

The ABs light came on when you put VTS clocks in the VTR?

    IS that what you mean?

Simple, the light is on because the VTS ECU is expecting a response from an ABS pump which isn't there. Just snip the wire which sends power to the ABS warning light. or take the dials apart and block off the LED.

yeah pretty much mate but my vtr already had vts clocks init before i done the conversion

when i put the vts into the vtr there was no lights just eml because of o2 sensor

so i thought i should swap clocks so mileage matches engine

so i removed the clocks from the vts and replaced mine (still vts clocks)

now i have abs light on and my handbrake light is on al the time?

    any info would be great

Put your old clocks back in? What happens?

handbrake light comes on if there's no ABS pump attached, and the abs light means an abs fault is stored.

Also, are the VTS clocks digital dials with LED's?

my guess would be the wiriring looms don,t match up exactly with the clocks -very few vtr,s had abs --so iI expect the loom to be different

Well ABS is/was an option, so the looms can't be that far different.

Matching clocks and loom from that VTS that had ABS is the problem.

I'd be sticking the other clocks back in it. you've already lost the original miles of the shell by fitting S clocks, doesn't really matter if the match engine miles. Nobody looking to buy a saxo is going to be bothered by that really

doesn,t have to be THAT different to be wrong --just different + yes refit other clocks
