Induction kit

  1. #1
    Hey
Anyone know of any good value induction kits for a MK2 VTR? Im looking to spend £20-£30 and get some piping etc to bring the air filter to the front but cant really find anything!
Whats the size of the throttle body so I can get some silicone piping and piece bits together myself?
    Cheers

You're not going to get much for £30.
Drop a panel filter in the standard airbox or save up for a K&N Gen 2.

You could get the 90 degree bend, and some alloy piping, and maybe a cheap generic filter for that amount.. You would have to measure your throttle body, as i have no idea what it is on a saxo..

    Elbows

500mm pipe to get towards the front of the car

    Cone filters

Yeah this is the sort of thing I was looking for! I was wondering if there were any kits that came with it all together ready made for a Saxo thats all

No idea, I'm sure there will be, but they will cost more than £30.. I made one up myself for my 306.. Then again, my inlet is at the front of the car anyway, so i just needed a silicone joint, and a straight, to take the filter behind the headlight..

For performance, your standard airbox is best! A K&N replacement panel is the best option.

For noise, any open filter will do, on a VTR i would just go for the cheapest really, there wont be any noticeable difference in performance.

My car came with a tiny grey K&N on already but its very small, dirty and at the back of the engine so doesnt look great and I imagine it has a lot of heatsoak!
Was hoping to get something near the front and that looks better!

Moving the filter closer to the front is only going to make heatsoak worse as its above the manifold.
I'm still convinced the Gen 2 is the best filter for these cars, proper cold air feed and a well designed filter.
