Lost it's rasp :(

   Fitted a 4-2-1 manifold today whereas before I was using the standard manifold with a decat and it was nice and raspy, but the 4-2-1 on today and the rasp seems to have gone just sounds throaty like when it still has the cat on, is it because it needs to bed in or is something different with the mani?

   For reasons im not so sure about when you remove an exhaust and refit it it gets quieter. Give it 100miles and see if it gets any louder.
   
   What mani is it?

   Oh really? Seems quieter with no rasp like it was when I had the cat and for a saxsport without rasp doesn't sound right! And sportex got it cheap off a mate nothing fancy as going 16v soonish!

   give it a few miles.
   Also, the sound like oxalates inside the hollowed out cat tub making it sound very raspy, but the noises from the tub, not the exhaust tip.

   Rasp has come back, but the exhaust is like 50% quieter than it was with the standard manifold!! why?!

   Seems strange,I would have expected it to be louder!

   Really strange so did I, standard mk1 manifold was a lot louder frustrating as it's real quiet!
